HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!
now listen, Im not one to make new years resolutions, I actually dont make them at all but as a person I am extremely goal oreinted, kind of obssessively so, if i dont feel like i am working towards a goal i can get stuck in this 'just living' phase and whilst theres nothing wrong with that it just doesnt feel right for me.
Ambition makes me feel alive.
So therefore, what I suggest to you is instead of devising a 'resolution' as such, lets sit down and listen to yourself and decide what it is you want to achieve in the next 12 months and as you reflect on that year as you are currently reflecting on 2014 you will know you have become more so the person you want and love to be.
I think it is important to have both long and short term goals but in this instance we will focus on the 12 months.
I use the days leading up to my new year to begin to reflect on my past year
and try to understand what it is that I believe will make me a happier and more fulfilled person as I find what I dream of can certainly change from year to year.
You are an amazing human with very many facets and magic-like unique qualities so lets designate the main elements of who you are and try to write 1-3 goals for the year under those titles, for me they are:
4. New Directions
this may take you a little while and will hopefully cause you to really think about yourself and your hopes for 2015. Some goals may be simple things that you wish to stick to, others may be a huge achievement that frightens you deeply.
But, thats the beauty of it, change occurs when we are uncomfortable and in a way frightened, its ok to be nervous but courage comes from doing it anyways and knowing the outcome instead of forever wishing you had of tried. The path is not straight and up for most, sometimes it will be incredibly painful and sometimes it will be euphoric! enjoy your 2015 and always focus on YOU.
as Dr. Seuss says: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..."
